We will be closed

However, we do have some new books coming out soon!
Thief’s Luck
Farlee always believed the Lady Luck had kissed his palm with good fortune, even
though his life was hard. Orphaned at the age of five, he was found by Dabreze,
a little girl his own age, who led him to her family, Mustaf and Zil, cousins
who had taken in Dabreze when her mother died. Together the four made a poor
but loving home in the city of Southport in the kingdom of Kardayen.
Now
at age seventeen, Farlee did odd jobs in the city, and when funds were low, was
a part-time thief. The Spring Festival in Southport was a perfect time to cut a
few purses while celebrants watched Dabreze dance to music played by Mustaf and
Zil, then customers lined up to have their fortunes told. Dabreze had a bit of
what people called “sight”, but she didn’t have to use it to tell the customers
what they wanted to hear.
Farlee wandered through the city to the main square, crowded with celebrants,
when he spotted a prosperous merchant whose bulging purse was too tempting to
ignore. Carefully cutting the strings to the purse and hiding it in his jacket,
Farlee melted into the crowd and headed for home.
Dabreze’s last customer left their house as Farlee arrived. Opening the purses
he’d stolen and pouring the contents into Dabreze’s hands, Farlee noticed
something still remained in the merchant’s pouch. Inside was a letter, sealed
with red wax and imprinted with a strange sigil. Farlee broke the seal, looked
at the script, and since he couldn’t read, he handed the letter to Dabreze. The
moment she touched it, she dropped the letter as if she’d been burned.
“Lady help us!” she whispered. Fear glittered in her eyes. “You’re in danger!
We both are! You’ve stolen something that will bring death to us both!”
Fleeing for their lives and aided by a traveling minstrel and his troupe of
entertainers, Farlee and Dabreze learned they had stumbled into a conspiracy
that reached from their home city to the castle of the king. Only Farlee could
stop the conspiracy. He had only seven days to do it. And he prayed that Lady
Luck would keep Dabreze, the king, and himself safe.
