Simplicity

I am trying to go into April with a good attitude. This is helped by knowing Russ will be home in three weeks. We plan to have at least one day away from home. We plan to go away for a day. Not far, but it will be nice if we can do it. He'll have a couple classes to teach, of course, but we'll have some time together.
But, since it will be the last week of the month, I need to get the stuff on Vision and things for FM done early. I think I can do it. If not . . . well, things will be late! LOL
That's about it for me, though. I think we might get our first thunderstorm of the season tonight. It's hard to say yet. I'll have the camera ready!

I have a list of things to get done today. I thought I should get this out of the way early this time, instead of late. Not that I have anything interesting to say yet -- but then I seem to hit that same problem late as well.
We had lovely weather yesterday, but it's cooler today and going to stay cooler again for a while. It was alike a tease of summer. If the weather could be that nice -- no warmer, no cooler -- for a while, I'd be very happy. It actually put me in a better mood. It's been a long time since the weather has done that for me.
So I'm going to try and hold onto that surge of good feeling, even though the weather isn't as nice as yesterday. It would be good to get things done.
Russ will be home three weeks from today. Yay!

I sent to bed before midnight last night and slept for 12 hours. And I'm still tired. I hope this doesn't go on for too long! I'm not getting much of anything done right now.
Well, maybe a day or two of rest isn't going to hurt, right?
Ugh. Don't like feeling like I'm falling behind. Especially this month when Russ will be home at the end. Okay, that's weeks away still. I can slack a little here.
But right now, I think it's time to get back to work. LOL

Just a quick note to say that I have survived another holiday on my own.
I have been in a bad mood all day, though. I hope I can get past that soon. Haven't talked to Russ at all. He seems to be busy. I had trouble focusing on anything at all again. Ah well. I am getting some stuff done. And it is a holiday. I shouldn't worry so much about work.
I hope everyone on the West Coast is doing okay. That's a lot of earthquakes today! Makes me happy to be back in nice, calm Nebraska again.
I guess I'll get a few more things written. Sounds like a plan to me.

We've had another reasonably good day of weather, but it's going to turn colder tonight. Too bad. I could stand to have this kind of weather for a while. Like the rest of the year.
Summer is coming. I'm sure I'm going to regret that.
Having trouble getting interested in any writing, which happens now and then. I hope it doesn't last for long.

It's cold, windy, wet and cold. Did I mention cold? There's snow west and north of us, but I think we're not going to get hit by it. I hope not. I don't need to see any more snow.

Other than that, things are going okay. Getting work done.
Starting to make lists of things that need to be done when Russ gets here. Eeek. 4 months is a long time. We have everything from dripping water to tree limbs down in the yard.
But that's it. Going to post since I forgot to put up yesterday's post. Just too much stuff going on!

Just a quick 'good night' here. Did a lot of work today. Tried to go to bed earlier and got caught up in other work. Now is the time.
Russ will be home in a little mover two weeks. Yay! It's been way too long -- it will be four months by the time he gets here. Sigh.
And we'll only have a week, part of that taken by classes he's teaching. He really enjoys those classes, though, so that's good.
Things to get done around here if I can get to feeling better. If not, I guess we'll survive it.
But now -- sleep is really a good idea.

Russ will be home in two weeks. It's been a long four months. We plan to go to Squaw Creek. I'm looking forward to getting out for a little while. Unfortunately, he'll only be here for a week and he has classes to teach on some of those days.
There's so much stuff we need to get done, too. I've been working around house problems since early winter. I also need to restock a lot of supplies.
There are also things we really need to just talk about. I'm getting the feeling that one week isn't going to be long enough -- but then it never is.
Ah, and two weeks until Taco Bell. Yay!

Late night. It's plainly time for me to get some sleep because I can hardly type two words without making a mistake.
I am having far too much fun on Flikr. Just so you know.
But other than that, can't say that I'm getting enough done. The writing went very well today but then I look at the list of things I need to do, and I realize that I should not be playing around there. But... it's fun!
I'm pretty much worn out tonight. Time to sleep for a few hours and start over again.
Less than two weeks and Russ will be home. That's something to look forward to.

Did some nice pictures today. Got writing done. Feeling a bit better. So, all in all, not too bad. But didn't get some things done on my list that I meant to. Ah well. I'll get to them.

I wrote some music.
No, I have never done that before. Not only did I write it, I set it up to be played by a computer-generated harp. The piece is only 43 seconds long, but I like it!
(When I tried the link it asked to save or open -- I said open and it went straight to Windows media player for me. You may have to set up something to play .wav files, though)
Life is odd. It really is. I'm working on a much longer (already a minute and a half, lol) and more complex piece. I'm learning about all the music annotations and such that I never knew better.
I love computers.
And I'm off to work on other stuff now!

Working at the other computer is helping. I'm getting work done early in the day and then coming back to this computer and . . . working. Sigh. But I'm getting things done.

I am having computer problems. I hope to have them cleared up soon. It's not too serious and I kind of hope that it just holds on until Russ gets home.
In the mean time, I'm working on the other computer early in the day still. And I had an 8k day, so it's going very well. Yay, writing!
But bad computer. Sigh.

Not having the best of times here, but I hope I'll be better by the time Russ comes home. I'm pretty much annoyed that I'm this miserable now. I'll be in a much worse mood if it holds on.

Not feeling a lot better today. Ugh. And I am having trouble getting things uploaded. I think the brain just isn't functioning right now.
I have, however, gotten a lot of writing done. This is good. It takes my mind off of being miserable, and I feel like I'm actually getting something done.
Maybe better tomorrow.

The boys are four today. We celebrated with fish and canned cat food. Now, if I can just survive and get better, we'll all be happier.
The boys were not cooperative for their picture today. usually, they're very good. But neither toys nor food would bribe them into cooperation. Of course, now Edmond wants snuggles.
Russ will be home in a few days. I sure hope I'm better by then!

This has not been a great day. I won't go into details. Russ is going to get things straightened out tomorrow, but if he can't . . . well, it's not the end of the world, but I could really use a little less drama.
In the mean time, I am trying to look forward to a promised trip to Squaw Creek early next week. Russ will be home this coming weekend. It will be really nice to have him home for a few days.
And that's it. Not much to say at this point. I need a break from the madness, though.

Yesterday was horrible. Today was much better. I'm in a better mood and I feel better. I got DAZ work and Vision work done tonight, plus managed to write about 2k. Can't ask for more than that from a day.
All the problems of yesterday are very nearly handled, or at least getting better.
and Russ will be home in a few days.
So -- time to upload and then go read for a while!

Russ will be here in a couple days!
I'm just exhausted tonight. Not that I really worked all that hard today. I just think other things have caught up with me.
So, it will be an early bed tonight. I've gotten quite a bit done today, so I'm feeling pretty good about it. I want pretty much everything out of the way before Russ gets here. I want to enjoy the time with him, not worry over FM, Vision and DAZ . . . though I will anyway.
Right now, though -- sleep sounds really, really good!

I am just incredibly tired tonight. That's okay. A nice long sleep sounds good.
And Russ is going to be home on Friday. Yay! We'll be gone for at least a couple days, too. I'll be out of the house! Of course, the weather is turning coldder again. I don't care.
So, that's it for the night. I'm off to sleep for as long as I can. It'll make the time until Russ comes home go faster.

Russ will be home tomorrow. Yay! It will be late (probably Saturday, actually) before he gets here. Whatever. As long as the weather doesn't turn bad, he'll be here. (Looks with worry at the weather reports for tomorrow).
Actually, it looks like there might be a good sized storm heading my way tonight. Okay fine. Come on, then clear out!
I started sneezing yesterday, woke up today feeling lousy, and I'm going to fight this cold off.Sniff. It will not win. Sneeze.
Well, it won't win for long.
I need to get back to work. Lots to get done before Russ gets here.

Russ will be home soon. Yay! we are, however, having a major storm. I hope he doesn't have much trouble on the drive home!

Getting ready for the trip tomorrow. All kinds of stuff to get done and out of the way. I have every intention of enjoying myself and having fun! It'll be nice just to have time to talk to Russ.

The weather turned cold and windy on us. It was alright for the drive down, but when we got to Squaw Creek, it was too cold to get out of the car. We drove around quite a bit anyway, and I got some great pictures -- not a lot of them, but a few nice ones.
Then we drove on to St. Joseph and spent the night at the Holiday Inn. St. Joseph is an odd town -- such an obvious French/New Orleans sort of flavor to it, but also plainly not doing as well as it had been. Russ and I liked it. We wouldn't mind living there -- lots of interesting places.
During the trip, we discussed stories and ideas and such. I think I have the start of an entire new science fiction series. I'm looking forward to working up all the background pieces on it. I've done notes, but it's time to draw it all together.

We got up early and headed back to the wildlife refuge. I would have liked better weather, but it was still fun. Saw a lot more today -- egrets, deer, ducks, muskrats and geese. It was windy and cold, though, so not a real good day for pictures.
I don't care. We drove around the refuge a couple times, I took pictures of all kinds of stuff, and we had a good time. We headed back home and had a wonderful talk on the way back. We hit rain north of Omaha, and it's damp and cold there now! Really, though, it was a great time.
Home and need to get stuff done now, though!

Today was one of those days where we both tried to get work done and didn't do as well as we hoped. But that's life. I think we'll both survive it. I suspect that Vision is going to be a bit late, though. I just can't seem to get focused on it.
But I'll get it done eventually.

The week is going too fast. Russ has far too much to get done, too. We had a lovely lunch today, though. We had a very windy day and it looks like storms tomorrow. As tired as I am, I may just sleep through them all!
I wish I could say I have something really exciting to talk about, but it's not going to happen tonight!

Russ has been gone all day. Sigh. I did get a lot of work done, but all in all, I'd rather he was around. Or I was off with him. He had two classes to teach, though, and he may have gone to see people afterwards. I expect he'll show back up soon.
We're having a bit of a storm now. A very bright but quiet one. I see lightning, but I really don't hear much for thunder.
Vision and the DAZ newsletter are both nearly done. This is pretty amazing. I thought I'd be late with both!

We did things today. And we ate a lot of food. And I want to go to bed now and sleep for a few hours. Tomorrow is Russ's last full day home, alas. Sigh. It went way too quickly.
He hopes to be back in about six weeks. That would be nice.
But right now -- get this done. Vision is probably going to be a day late. I'm too tired tonight and I don't want to spend my last day with Russ tomorrow working on it. He may have things to do, though, so we'll see if I get the time.
