Russ is leaving tomorrow. Sigh. He was so busy all week that we didn't get a lot done around here, but at least we got a couple trips out of town, which is a big help for me. Today we went to DeSoto. and found that a lot of the place was underwater! I'd expected flooding down in the Squaw Creek Refuge, but not the DeSoto one!
Then I ate something that made me ill. Sigh. Allergic reaction and I'm not sure which of the odd things it was, but since I'm unlikely to have any of them again soon, I won't worry about it.
Boy was I miserable, though.

Russ is heading back to New York. He hopes to be here again in about six weeks, but we'll see. We haven't had much luck with that kind of stuff lately. We took one last quick ride today, then he packed up the last of his stuff and off he went.
So, back to the way it was again already. It was far too short of a week.

One of the things I've been playing with this week is HDR photo merges. Interesting stuff to play with, and I think I'll get better at them as I go along -- providing I get the time to really work with it. I've had a book on this for over a year now and I would love to learn how to do it well.
Other than that -- I have too many stories going and I need to start finishing some stuff up. I made a list, but I don't know how well I'll do with it.

Yesterday I got work done on a few projects. I thought I was doing well.
And then today I started a short story and didn't work on anything else. It's almost done, too, so that's good. But still -- I don't need more projects.
Though it is a story challenge at FM so I had to do something.
Beyond that, I can't say there's anything going on. Worked on the DAZ newsletter. Looked at the HDR stuff a bit more. Added a little bit to my new music piece. In general, didn't get anything really done but worked on a lot of stuff.
I think that's kind of how my life goes.
The short story is moving along nicely, though. Not much left to do on it, in fact.
So, off to do some work on something!

I finished Paid in Gold and Blood tonight. Yay! It came out very well, too! I'm going to send it off to Russ to read next, I think. Then we'll see what I want to do with it.
I also have a good part of the DAZ newsletter done, too. It shouldn't be too hard to finish up tomorrow. Right now, though, I just want to get some sleep. This was a difficult bit of work to do, but I was determined to get it done tonight!

I am getting things done, though. In finished Paid in Gold and Blood last night. I'm working on a short story today. Got the last of the Twitter story posted. I won't be doing that again! That just didn't work well at all. Glad to have it done.
I have a list of things to do for today. But now I can't find the list. I guess that means I'm done with it for the day? No? Sigh.

Half way through the book. Had to stop to do work, alas, and to clear a growing headache. The story is great!
I'll have it done tonight. I've had to make sure it's away from the computer, or else I wouldn't get anything done at all.
We'll see how long I hold out.

Yes, I finished the book last night. Yay! Great book, exciting ending -- and I want more. Right now.
I have written two reviews today, too -- Deceiver and Water Mysteries of Mesa Verde. I have two more nonfiction books I could be done with today if I really just sat down and read. Not going to happen -- I don't think -- but it's a thought!
I have to get back to work in the library and finish getting the books sorted out there. It's a real mess, but it's been fun to pull them, rearrange, get some back up. Makes me want to read everything.
So, I must get back to work now. I'm behind on a few things since I couldn't stop reading, but really not doing badly at all.

I am not getting a lot done today. It's getting late, too, so I'm not going to get anything done. Oh well. A bit of writing. A bit of book arranging. I don't think I need to do more, do I?
Write some more would be good. But I'm really tired for some reason.

This has been one of those days where I just couldn't get much done. A little here, a little there -- but nothing really completed. Now, here I am at least trying to get this journal up for the night before I forget it again. I do try to keep up on this stuff.
Not that it is really going to make a lot of difference. My life is dull again. If it would warm enough for me to go for walks, I'd at least have some fun stuff there to show you. But the weather has been too cool.
Of course, looking at so many other places reminds me that it could be much worse.
So I won't complain. I'll just post this and go on about my work, shall I?

I am not getting a lot of stuff done today. A little bit here and there, but not as much as I would hope. Still, better than nothing at all.
I need to get real work done tomorrow -- DAZ newsletter and stuff like that. I hope that I feel better. Had a bit of dizzy stuff today and spent far too much time in bed. Better now, so I hope it stays that way.
And it's late. I need to go sleep.

I am just getting the newsletter done and preparing to post it, so I thought I would do this now, too. No news at all. It's been a quiet and cool day. I want spring and warmer weather. Looks like we might have something better tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it.
But that's it. I want things posted so I can feel like I'm done for the night!

I'm trying to get some writing done. For some reason, I'm having a horrible time focusing on anything like that today. And I can't say that I've gotten anything else done, either.
The weather today was better, at least. I even went outside for a little while. Amazing, how you can do that when it's not so cold. I hope to start going for walks down the bike path again soon, too. I just need to be able to trust the weather and feel well enough to do it at the same time.
I want to take more pictures. It should be fun.
Right now, though, time to get this posted and get back to work on things!

I did get some much needed work done today. Yay! And I have a bit of writing done, too.
I even spent some time today getting material copied off the hard drive again. I keep letting that go too long, especially when I'm doing so many pictures. I have a bunch copied off (and more going now, in fact) so that's good. Next up is some of the non-picture stuff that also needs copying.
Writing is good today. Worked on a class that has been really bothering me, but today's material went better than it has in a while.
So that's my news!

I had a good day for working on things. The rose picture is done, and I got quite a ways into my short story class material. This is really very good. I need it done. I'm even happy with most of what I got, though I think I need to work on the order again.
Other than that, though, it's been a long day. Wind was ill last night, and I couldn't sleep much because of it. He's better today. I think I'll sleep well tonight.

But I feel like I'm getting somewhere, at least. That's good. I don't like to think I'm just wasting all this time. I want to have something to show for it, eventually.
I have to get this short story class done before it drives me nuts. I've redone it too many times already, and I really can't say that I'm doing better. I'm just determined to finish it this time.
So, back to work.

I am almost to 10k on the class. This is the half way point, and it's actually coming together pretty well. It is only really working because I can access books, though. I hate trying to explain omni view point. I don't like to use it, and that means I don't understand it from any useful point of view. So, back to the books....
Other than that, it's going okay. Writing this thing is very slow, but that's okay as long as I get 1k a day. I can have the full draft done by the end of the month. There's a great goal!
The newsletter is going okay, too. So, all in all, not bad for today. Now if I can just sleep well tonight, I'll be in a better mood tomorrow.

I have only gotten only a few hundred more words for the class. Busy with all kinds of things and not going to get less so for the next couple days. I really just want to write, but that seems out of the question right now. Do the class. Work on my other stuff later.
Well, maybe just a little writing on my fiction.
And no, I didn't sleep all that well. Woke up with a horrid back ache, too, but that's eased a bit.
I think it's going to be a long summer.

No, can't say I've gotten much farther on the class. Did get the newsletter mostly done -- I'll finish that off and send it in a few minutes. Got a delivery of tea in the mail and food from the store, so I'm doing all right. They did not, however, have the cat food I needed. Sigh.
We'll manage.
I'm pretty tired, though, so I better get this done and get to bed!

I spent most of the day fighting with a horrid cold/ear problem. Gah. Just that time of year. A lot of it going around, I think.
I'm going to take some medication and go to bed soon. I hope that this is pretty much cleared up by tomorrow.

It was hot and windy today. Miserable. I told you I would be annoyed when it got hot. And especially since I have no AC. 90f was too much -- especially going from very cool to hot in so short a time!
But we survived. Now, if that storm out there kind of avoids us....
I think I heard a branch break and fall earlier to night. We'll see tomorrow.
Other than that -- working on things. As always. Not much else to say!

It would be nice if I could tell one day from another sometimes. Weekend? Oh, didn't notice.
On the other hand, nearly end of the month startles me. There's always things to do at the end of the month.
The weather here is hot now. I would rather have had a longer spring, but summer is inevitable. I'll survive it. I am working better at night rather than during the day, though. That helps!

Today's work is to study a bit more of Joomla, write more on the short story class, and then work on a silly new story I started last night.
Just need it to cool off so I can think. It's getting late enough that I should be better soon. I really wish for spring back, but I guess I'll have to wait another year for that.

I played with photography today. That was really nice and fun. Walked a couple blocks away to get some nice sunset shots, which proved to be very nice. I need to walk to the pond and get some shots there at sunset, but that would be a long walk home in the dark. Hmmm.
Anyway, it's all going well. Got writing done. Got work done. Had lovely Taco Pizza for dinner, and had dinner with Russ over Skype.
Now off to bed to read for a while and then sleep! Yay!

The weather is getting hotter again. We had a bit of rain but not really enough. The winds were really bad for a couple days there, though.
It's far too close to the end of the month. I have so much that I need to get done! I, of course, keep focusing on things I really don't need to get done instead. Gah.

I have been so tired today that I can barely work for a couple hours before I go back and rest for a while. Part of it is a cold that just refuses to let go along with some allergies. Ugh.
And it's even closer to the end of the month. Great. Must get things done.
Just not in a great mood, I fear. That's going to make this even harder to do. I always get there, though.

Hot, hot, hot! Sitting here at the computer is almost torture today! I've been working on a website for most of the day. It's going pretty well, I think. Learning things -- always a good deal.
It was far too hot to work today on anything that really required a brain. Now there appears to be a huge storm rolling in, so that's going to stop me from getting much more done as well. Just one of those nights!

I am closer to being done with Ada. However, I just knew there was something wrong with the ending. Dull. Flat. Went on for too long and the one guy in it is just plain stupid.
I think I've figured it out, and it all ties back in with earlier things I hadn't even considered. so I'm looking forward to rewriting the ending of it, even if it doesn't mean I'll be done this month.
So I'm heading off to bed so I can get a good start tomorrow!

End of the month. So much I meant to get done and didn't. Ah well. I'm still doing okay. Ada is close to done, I'm glad to say. I will likely have it finished tomorrow. I don't think I can do it all tonight since I'm rewriting the end.
Other than that -- weather is better. It was cool for most of yesterday. Warmer today but cloudy. I get the feeling we might see a storm.
I really need to get some work done today and I don't feel a lot like doing it. It's a holiday, right? I don't have to work. Right?
