I don't know if I should be glad to see another month so soon or not. It is crazy around here lately. I did finally get the DAZ newsletter done just now and off for changes. Other than that, I can't say I've gotten much else done. Working on the novel.
It's warmer at least. That is helping out a bit. My brain seems to be somewhat engaged -- well enough to argue with me and say it doesn't want to work today.
Sometimes you can't win.

Nice day. Got work done. Weather was lovely until it got windy and turned cold, but at least it was nice for most of it. Now I'm fighting to get some stuff done.

Slow work on Waiting for the Last Dance. I am getting there, but I'm seeing more and more things to change. That's all right. Better to find them now than not at all.
Russ will be home this time next week. Yay!
I think that's part of what's keeping me from focusing, in fact. He hasn't been home for six months. It's kind of distracting.
Other than that, not a lot done today. Talked with Russ (voice only) on Skype while he cleaned his place. LOL. it was actually kind of nice -- just visiting for a while.
We are having a wind storm here. Stormy looking clouds, too. Looks like spring!

I am starting out today in absolutely not the best of moods. At least I've applied it to a good cause and went straight to work on the newsletter to try and get ahead a little. Next week is the one that will be difficult to do, though.
Still, I just want things to go smoothly for a few days. I can manage that, right? Russ will be here late Friday/Early Saturday. Then I'll likely be late with some posts because I don't plan to spend a lot of time sitting here in front of this computer.

I am not in the best of moods today again. I think it might be the storms and such that have been easing through. Or possibly that I'm trying to get things cleaned up and not really doing well with that, either. I need a better attitude.
I'm just not certain where it might be hiding.
A bit later in the day, and I seem to be doing better now. Good. I've gotten a few things done, but still not as much as I would like to. Still, can't complain too much.
Russ will be home in three days! yay!

Trying to get things done. Really. It's not going so well, but at least I'm busy!
The weather is better again. I don't think we're going to see any more snow, at least! Of course, now we have thunderstorms in the forecast. Is that better?
Well, at least it's a change.
I am moving ahead with Waiting for the Last Dance. It's going all right. I'll be glad to have it done. Not sure what I'll do next. Maybe The Summerfield books.

Hours now. Really, counting down the hours until Russ comes home sometime tomorrow.
I'm getting things done around the house. Getting stuff done on the stories, too. Mostly just trying to get stuff cleared out so I have free time. I need time!
I will be leaving the house for the first time in months. Well I have gone next door, of course. But still. This was a long, boring annoying winter. I hope I don't have to go through it again.
Sigh.
Okay, I need to get back to work on stuff!

Russ went to see some friend Saturday, so late in the day we headed down to Squaw Creek. On our way out of town I looked at the clouds rolling in and said that didn't look good.
I was right. There was a bad tornado about 40 miles from here (Mapleton Iowa), but we didn't hear about it until the next day.
We got to the place late, but did a quick tour, saw some interesting things, and out about ten minutes before the gates automatically close. On to St. Joe for the night (free hotel room!) and slept!

Day 2 at the refuge! Lovely weather in the 80's -- it was 30 degrees colder in Sioux City -- and though too bright (cloud cover would have helped with the glare off the water), still got a lot of really nice pictures. Stayed for several hours then headed north. Made a pass through De Soto Wildlife Refuge, where there were no animals to be seen at all! Very odd.
Made it home where it had rained a lot but nothing worse. Colder though!

Russ had stuff to do today. I rode with him and sat in the car for part of it and read my Nook. That was fun. We looked at stuff at a couple stores (didn't buy anything) and then came back home so he could work on class stuff and get ready for the thing he had to do. It's been a quiet day.

Russ is off meeting with people again today. I got a bit of housework done, but that's about it so far! I need to get some work done, I guess -- as much as I would like to just get away for a bit, that's not going to happen. I need to settle back in and get things done!

Russ surprised me with a trip yesterday! We went down to the Wildlife Safari between Omaha and Lincoln -- nice place, great pictures. The we drove over to Lincoln and back up to home. It was a really nice few hours away from home.
Today we both have things to get done. I'm working on the newsletter, of course. I hope that it doesn't give me any trouble. So back to work!

Only about two and a half days and Russ will be gone again. Sigh. Lots to get done, and he's very busy now with the classes he's teaching as well. It was good to get out and see things, and have nice long conversations with him, though.

The weather here has turned very cold, rainy and a bit of snow around, too. This can't be right. Though April has always been an iffy month.
Russ leaves on Sunday. We still have things to get done, but overall, it's been a really good week. I hope he can come home again soon.
Or better yet, get a job here and be done with this insanity.

We went up to South Dakota today to see Russ's brother and sister-in-law. Had a lovely time, even though we couldn't get to their house. Yesterday they had nine inches of snow.
Ack.
Yes, it is cold, but we got lucky. Even though they're only about 70 miles away, we got no snow at all -- at least none that stuck on the ground.
We ate at our favorite restaurant late last night. The owner came out and talked to us for a while. It was nice.

Russ has left to go back to New York. Sigh.
I have a lot of things to get done now. I also have no interest in working since I'm depressed that Russ is gone again. Sigh.
The weather is just a little bit better today. The snow was too much, though it looks like we have a possibility of it again soon. Ack. I want spring. I fear we're going to miss spring and go straight to summer, though.
And that's it. I had a great week. It's going to be hard to get back into the swing of things here at the house again.
Oh! And today is the Boy's Day! Russ was even here for part of it and we got them kitty toys and treats.

I am down to the last couple chapters of Waiting for the Last Dance. Today was a hard day of work, though. I know part of it is because I'm slightly out of practice on it, even though I worked a little each day. Yeah, and my mind just isn't on the work. Sigh.
But I got the chapter done and now I'm on to other things again.
And trying to ignore that they say we'll have snow tonight.

I am getting things done today. Slow, but steady sort of stuff, but getting there. I have something to send off for work, and then I think I am going to finish up the last of the edits for Waiting for the Last Dance. Yay!
We had snow on the ground this morning. I ignored it and it went away, eventually. But the temp hasn't gotten above 38f all day and I'm really tired of the cold. Snarl.
Other than that -- doing well enough. Just need a little more push!

Two day headache from hell. I think I am done with Waiting for the Last Dance, but I'm not sure and I don't trust it. So I'll wait a bit more before I send it off.
Other than that -- can't say much. I think I'm going to bed early tonight in hopes that I can sleep through the headache. Sounds like a plan!

The computer has developed some serious problems. Of course it has. Why not? I have no funds to replace or repair it and Russ is not here now. This makes sense to me. It wouldn't create problems when there was a chance of an easy fix, right?

I'm getting writing one. I can't say I'm getting a lot else done, but that's okay. Writing is good.
Computer is holding together. Story is moving. The weather is cool, but I'm not going out so what do I care?

I've gotten lots of odd things done today, which is good, because I didn't feel much like working at all. But Vision is partly done, the newsletter is complete and sent off. Right now I'm waiting for Russ to come on line so we can talk a bit.
I even went outside and pulled some dead weeds and such. Amazing. I generally am not much of a go out and do things in the dirt person. (grin)
Tonight the headache is coming back a bit. I'm trying to hold it at bay. I can just hope for the best.

I have had a remarkably good day. It started out with one person telling me how much she has enjoyed what she's read of my work, and then going and buying everything at Smashwords. Then I got an invitation to take part in Indie Month with another group, which means reviews and interview.
I've had a little bit of trouble with the computer, but over all, that's not been too bad, either.
It is raining. Kind of cold. But I'm getting some writing done, so can't complain too much.

Well, I can't say that I'm really getting a lot done today. Still it's not all bad. I think I might get the Devlin 4 first draft done tonight. I hope so. I need to get a few things out of the way.
I have watched all 8 seasons of Red Dwarf since my birthday. I don't know what I'll watch next. Really got used to 'visiting' with the group each night. Sometimes they show went over the top, but it was often quite amusing. I'll go back and watch a few of my favorite episodes again soon.
Right now, though, time to get back to writing. I want to finish Devlin 4 as soon as I can.

I am trying to get the newsletter done and get Vision finished. That's taking most of my time the last couple days. Other than that, there really isn't much to report. Even the writing is slow.

Here it is suddenly the last day of the month. Ack. I have a number of things to get done. My brain is not connecting to any of them. I think, in fact, that I'll get the easiest stuff done first and then try to finish up Vision, though it might not get done until tomorrow. That's the day it's due out anyway.
I have been suffering from headaches as the weather goes up and down around here. Today is a good day, but the headache is there. That will not help.
End of the month. Ack. Must get to work.
